Buffalo National River has recently received an Important Bird Area (IBA) designation. This distinction brings a internationally recognized criteria for conservation of birds found along the Buffalo. Join C. D. Scott and learn what spring and summer neo-tropical birds are along the BNR and how IBA designation will help them.
C.D. Scott has worked for the Buffalo National Park for ten years and is currently a biologist with the Buffalo River, heading up the SUP ( hay lease) program and doing bird surveys, botanical surveys, mammal surveys, and open field work. He previously worked for Missouri Dept. of Conservation for 6 years in the areas of forestry, wildlife, and resource divisions, including manning fire towers for three years while in the forestry division.
