Spring Fling Hike and Wildflower Walk, Saturday, March 31, 10 a.m. Lost Valley Trail
March 31 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Buffalo National River Partners will join our fellow nature lovers, North Central Arkansas Master Naturalists, for our annual not-to-be-missed event for wildflower enthusiasts and amateur botanists. This year we will explore the Lost Valley Trail near Ponca, AR.
This is a beautiful creek side trail well known for its stunning array of wildflowers, giant rocks, bluff formations and the 80 foot Eden Falls. The trail begins at the Lost Valley parking lot and ends in Cobb Cave 1 ½ miles up the valley. The first mile is level and easy going. The trail then climbs steeply to the month of the cave. The cave itself is a tight squeeze for approximately 200 feet ending in a large room with a 35 foot tall waterfall. Bring a flashlight if you wish to explore Cobb Cave.
We will meet at the Lost Valley parking lot at 10 AM, break into smaller groups each with an experienced Wildflower hike leader and then our adventure will begin!
We will have a cookie break before our hike begins! Plan to bring a sack lunch or to stop for lunch on the way home. Both Jasper and Harrison have excellent venues for lunch.

WHAT TO BRING : Your favorite wildflower field guide, a pencil for notations, a walking stick, water, camera and a sack lunch (unless your group plan to explore the local restaurants on the way home).
