Short Summary: Opportunities to explore the Ozarks are plentiful at the Buffalo National River, including over 400 known caves within the Park’s boundaries. Project CAVES, funded through a grant from the Arkansas Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, brings students from across Arkansas together to learn about and explore caves in a natural setting. Nathan Windel, Director of CAVES, will discuss the program and how the partnership and support from the Park has increased the opportunities and experiences provided to participating students.
